To spice things up with deep bassy kicks and the classic boom-chak rhythm of reggaetón, Beatmakers RICO offers 10 separate kits, each with 16 drum instruments professionally layered, compiled, and mixed to create the instantly recognizable sonic identity associated with the genre. Choose from 20 styles with 23 ready-made patterns each for a total of 460 different rhythmical patterns for instant song intros, fills, verses, choruses, breakdowns, and endings—all waiting to be fired off and arranged using your MIDI controller in real time.
Whether you need straight-ahead beats or authentic world-percussion grooves, with RICO, you can create outstanding rhythms for your music quickly and easily. It instantly syncs to your DAW’s tempo, and you can play a near-infinite variety of loops just like you would on an instrument. Select one of the 12 mix settings and boost the intensity of your beat using the Amount knob. The Me Gusta function uses a bidirectional slider which lets you shape the overall sound of your beats. Optimized for live arrangement and mixing, Beatmaker RICO takes advantage of Ujam’s simple yet powerful macro controls, allowing for dynamic and tonal tweaking on the fly.

Phrase Drag-and-Drop into DAW
- You can now drag phrases like intros, verses, or choruses straight from the interactive UI keyboard to the Beatmaker instrument track of your DAW. This opens up a slew of creative options.
Mix Section with Beat Intensity
- The Mix section features a set of 12 mix presets optimized for creating Latin pop grooves.
- Use the Amount knob for thumping lows, smooth stereo widening, slap delay, EQ carving, and many other processing methods rolled into 12 mix presets, allowing you to transform the sound of your beats in moments.
- Use the Beat Intensity control to make quick changes—e.g., to adjust energy levels between your verse and chorus.
Special Control: Me Gusta
- Turning the slider up will increase the stereo width, in case you want to give your beat a bit more space in the mix. It also boosts the low frequencies and decreases high frequencies.
- Pulling the slider downwards does the opposite and also boosts the mids—try it both ways.
Master Section for Sound Processing
- The Master Section processes the stereo output of Beatmaker excluding the instruments you’ve sent through individual outputs.
- Enjoy one-knob saturation, a loudness maximizer, an ambience selector, a sweep control for the dual filter, and more.
Individual Audio Outputs
- With individual outputs, you can route any instrument or channel from Beatmaker to separate channels on your DAWs mixer.
Studio One Integration
- Exclusive Studio One (v4.6.2 and later) piano-roll integration: The names of styles and drum elements are displayed on the keys of your piano roll to help you find the right styles and drums quickly and easily for your track.
- The scale range of the styles and instruments are highlighted with a red line on the left side of your piano roll.
