The Sugar Bytes DrumComputer is a plug-in instrument that combines classic and modern synthesis into 8 electronic drum engines and welds them to a powerful 16-step sequencer. Intelligent randomizers, intuitive pattern editing and the ability to import your own samples allows for an unlimited wealth of sounds and groove possibilities. The instrument can be used in standalone mode or as an AU/AAX/VST plug-in within your DAW.

Sound Engines

8 individual sound engines contain DSP parameters; share presets and exchange sounds between engines
3 synthesis layers cover a broad variety of timbres: a classical analog-sounding Resonator, the Analog/Wavetable oscillator, plus the Resynth layer bring you liquidized cymbals, snares, and synths
Switch from Resynth to Sampler mode to play back your own sounds
Multimode filter, compressor, and distortion
2 kinds of send reverbs (room and hall) provide a wide variety of sound-sculpting options
2 Env-LFO hybrid modulators with multiple waveforms and a flexible modulation matrix with sources and targets all over the instrument

Easy Access

The Kit page provides the most important functions of the sound engine
Each of the eight kit channels provides a preset browser for the individual sound, controls for global pitch and decay, a modify knob, and a profiled random function
Define a Mute group in order to make a trigger on one engine choke the sound on another engine
Use Choke Groups for open/closed hi-hat choking and interesting synth sounds
The Finalizer is a well-balanced blend of transient shaper, compressor, maximizer, and saturation. Use it to bring out the attacks on your drums and let the room breath

Drum sound randomizers with profiles and the MakeKit button keep generating new drum sounds and kits
Auto Fill turns simple patterns turn into livid tracks with insert fills and parameter changes at certain song positions
Remix control generates complex fills for dynamic grooves
The Pattern, Mute, and Mapping section offers you extensive live performance control over DrumComputer
Assign drum sounds to your keyboard and use Key zones for rolls, pitch, and modulations
8 keys are reserved for the mute function—perfect for rearranging your beats live
16 pattern keys plus pattern chain allow for easy pattern editing and sequencing

16-Step and 16-Pattern Sequencer

Provides tempo, direction and step length per track; also capable of generating complete, complex patterns with more than just triggers
Modulation sequencers for probability, rolls, step delay, pitch, decay, and modulation
Complete MIDI drag and drop feature generates a MIDI file that contains triggers and modulation sequences as well as auto fills and their related CCs
