Music producers looking for a complete, full-featured DAW that’s easy to use will be impressed with the Image Line FL Studio 20 All Plugins Edition, a complete software music production environment that includes FL Studio 20 Signature Edition along with the all the features and native plugins available at the time of purchase. It delivers a full suite of music creation features including audio recording and editing, MIDI piano roll and step sequencing, live performance mode, and multitouch support. It also includes over 100 software synthesizers and effect plug-ins.
In this latest update, Image Line has jumped from version 12 to version 20 to celebrate 20 years of software. There are several significant updates including full Mac OS X and macOS support (10.13 or later), Apple Silicon CPUs, unlimited time signature changes, consolidate clips (freezing), playlist arrangements, full plug-in delay compensation, and a redesigned tool bar. FL Studio All-Plugins Edition has support for AU and VST 64-bit, DX, and FL Native plug-in formats, and it can be hosted in other DAWs as a VST, or connected through ReWire. Both Mac and Windows versions are cross-platform compatible, allowing for seamless sharing and collaboration.
FL Studio 20 offers a host of advanced audio recording and editing functions that you can use to capture and fine tune your musical ideas. It allows you to record an unlimited amount of audio tracks simultaneously, only limited by the power of your computer and the amount of inputs on your audio interface. Once recorded, you can manipulate your audio with Edison, FL Studio’s integrated wave editor that provides a broad palette of functions such as spectral analysis, convolution reverb, noise reduction, loop-construction tools, and more. Using the playlist function, you can arrange your audio and perform other editing tasks such as time-stretching, pitch-shifting, beat-slicing, cropping, and more.
In addition to audio recording and editing, FL Studio 20 provides advanced mixing and routing options that allow you to create complex, polished productions. Allowing for up to 125 channels, the mixer can be used for leveling, panning, creating submixes, and adding effects to your audio. Each channel of the mixer is equipped with a parametric EQ and can hold up to 10 effects (VST, DX, or FL’s Native format). Choose from more than 40 effects including maximization, limiting, compression, delay, distortion, equalization (graphic and parametric), filtering, phasing, flanging, chorus, vocoding, and reverb. Furthermore, the mixer includes four dedicated send channels that provide the ability to sidechain inputs to multi-input effects plug-ins.
FL Studio offers a multitude of MIDI recording and sequencing functions that are centered around its piano roll and trademark step-sequencer features. Use either of these powerful tools alone or in combination with one another to record your musical performances in either pattern or track sequencing mode depending on your personal workflow. Choose from a selection of over 30 software synthesizers covering acoustic/synthetic bass, electric guitar, multisampler tools including piano and strings, general sample playback, and beat-slicing (with Rex 1 and 2 support).

Time Signatures:
- Default time signature is set in the project
- General settings and time signature changes with time markers
- Use the on-pattern clip menu, use current time signature to set a time signature based on playlist position
Consolidate Clips (Freezing): Bounce selected audio and pattern clips to a single audio clip via:
- Playlist Menu: Consolidate playlist selection – bounces selected clips to audio
- Playlist Track: Consolidate track – bounces an entire playlist track to audio
- Picker Panel: Render as audio clip – creates audio clips ready to use
- Picker Panel: Render and replace – replaces playlist patterns with audio
Playlist Arrangements: An arrangement is the layout of audio, automation, and pattern clips in the playlist as you added them. Use the drop-down arrangements menu to manage multiple playlist versions of the project (working ideas, sound design, versions etc.)
Plug-In Delay Compensation: Automatic PDC now work for all normal use cases including for mixer sends. Manual and auto-PDC can now coexist. Manual PDC is applied as an offset to auto PDC. Updates include:
- Audio Recording: New audio input delay control on the input menu fixes latency issues with individual audio inputs
- Icon Colors: Automatic (orange), manual (blue), or not set (gray)
- Mixer Menu: Plug-In Delay Compensation > Reset manual latency on all tracks. Option to reset all manually set latency values to zero
- Metronome: Latency compensated
- Mixer FX Slots: Latency compensated Wet/Dry mix knob. Processing delay is now compensated when mixing the Wet/Dry signals from an effect for each FX slot
Continuous Adjustment: Roll the mouse wheel over the time icon or latency display
- Mouse Wheel: 10 ms steps
- Ctrl+Mouse Wheel: 1 ms steps
- Ctrl+Alt+Mouse Wheel: 1 sample steps
Mouse Wheel Works in Three Places:
- Track input latency icon (FX panel)

Wrapper Offset: Latency shown in the wrapper info can be set and saved per plug-in. Use to compensate plug-ins that consistently report an incorrect latency

- Fruity Convolver (Update): Added a PDC control, just above the Editor window, to set an impulse’s latency so PDC is correctly applied. Related, there are two new Linear Phase EQ presets, Linear phase EQ (Long compensated) and (Short compensated) that make use of this feature
