XHUN Audio ShineVerb Reverb Processor Plug-In
Put magic and glow into your music productions, from small chambers to endless distorted echoes, with XHUN ShineVerb Reverb Processor. Designed for reverberation, spatialization, and sound-coloration purposes, this multidevice plug-in offers a set of modeled analog and digital gears, arranged inside a rackmount cabinet with a simple, easy-to-use interface.
To enhance expressiveness and versatility for any sound-design scenario, ShineVerb combines a resonator-based digital-reverberation core with a stereo-image enhancer, an analog preamplifier, and a final hybrid amplifier for further sound colorations.
More than Just an Echo
- Playing the leading role in ShineVerb is the REEVERB XT device, a digital reverberation unit with an extended set of controls. It features a special panorama-enhancer engine to finely adjust the stereo-image width of the processed sound.
- At the preprocessing stage, the PRE-AF24 unit is an analog preamplifier featuring an input signal router, an analog overdrive circuit, and a multimode (low-pass or high-pass) analog filter.
- On the postprocessing side, the MIX-DF42 unit is a hybrid amplifier made of two digital low-pass and high-pass filters, an analog saturation circuit, and a final mixer section.

Available for download, Xhun Audio FilterCult is a plug-in that faithfully emulates the analog filter stage of a classic piece of gear. Useful for sound design and mixing, this processor applies gentle analog-style filtering on any instrument. It’s particularly musical on percussive elements.
The circuit of this filter was modeled faithfully—in fact, the GUI has the look of a hand-drawn schematic, adding visual flare to the sonic panache of this software. The software works on Mac and Windows systems, and operates in VST2, VST3, and AU formats.
Filter and Sound Coloration
FilterCult is a powerful filter and sound coloration tool. This multidevice effect processor is composed of a set of modeled analog gears and digital devices arranged inside a rackmount cabinet and accessible through a simple and easy to use interface.
Analog Emulation
At its heart, FilterCult consists of an accurate simulation of a transistor-ladder analog filter, meticulously preserving its original circuit topology, behavior, and quirks. Moreover, the addition of circuit-bending modifications and the possibility to use supplementary nonlinear electronic components sensibly expand its sound-sculpting possibilities.
Playing the leading role in FilterCult is the FLT-TL22 device, an accurate modeling simulation of a transistor ladder analog filter. In order to make this analog filtering unit well suited for a wide range of use cases, a meticulous model of the original circuit design and physical properties was created.
Improvements over Original Hardware
A series of experimental circuit bends and improvements have been added, including device-level feedback path (with the possibility to delay the feedback signal), extra prefilter and post-filter nonlinear components (using transistor-based or tube-based technologies), a pole selector (by connecting different nodes of the analog circuit to the main device output), a high-pass path, and much more.
