Waves Restoration – Noise Reduction Plug-Ins Bundle (Native/SoundGrid, Download) Overview
Restoration from Waves is a collection of plug-ins designed to fix damaged audio files. It can be used to revive damaged recordings and fix archival recordings or deteriorating film and TV soundtracks. The various plug-ins can deal with steady state and variable noise, along with hum.
Waves X-Click – Transient Noise Removal Plug-In (Native/SoundGrid, Download)
X-Click from Waves is an audio restoration plug-in that removes transient noise often found in vinyl and shellac records. Clicks, spikes, switching noise and digital crosstalk material can be modulated while preserving the sonic integrity of the source. An Audio/Difference switch allows for monitoring just the offending artifacts.
Waves X-Crackle – Surface Noise and Crackle Removal Plug-In (Native/SoundGrid, Download)
X-Crackle from Waves is an audio restoration plug-in that employs advanced psycho-acoustic algorithms to remove crackles and surface noise from vinyl records and damaged recordings. The crackles and surface noise can be modulated while preserving the sonic integrity of the source. An Audio/Difference switch allows for monitoring just the offending artifacts.
Waves X-Hum – Hum Removal Plug-In (Native/SoundGrid, Download)
X-Hum from Waves is an audio restoration plug-in that employs an easy to use interface to attenuate ground loop hum, DC offset, and low-frequency rumble caused by turntables and tape machines. Using eight harmonically linked notch filters allows for modulating the noise while preserving the sonic integrity of the source. An Audio/Difference switch allows for monitoring just the offending artifacts.
Waves X-Noise – Steady-State Noise Removal Plug-In (Native/SoundGrid, Download)
X-Noise from Waves is an audio restoration plug-in that employs the same intuitive controls often found on traditional dynamics processors used for removing tape hiss, air conditioner or computer noise from individual tracks, complete mixes, or damaged recordings. The noise can be modulated while preserving the sonic integrity of the source. An Audio/Difference switch allows for monitoring just the offending artifacts.
*For TDM use, no stereo operation at 96 kHz
Waves Z-Noise – Noise Reduction Plug-In (Native/SoundGrid, Download)
Z-Noise from Waves is a broadband noise processor ideal for removal of tape hiss, ground hum and computer noise. The software can remove both high frequency and low frequency problems simultaneously without adversely affecting the source material.
The plug-in features a familiar five-band EQ interface and an “Extract” mode which can create a noise profile from sources that contain signal, as well as a flexible “Adaptive” mode. Real-time operation means parameters can be fine tuned and changes heard as they are made.
Monitoring provides a choice of either listening to the audio after Z-Noise processing or the noise being removed. A choice can also be made between increased frequency resolution or improved time resolution, or a combination of the two.
