Cherry Audio Year Two Collection Modules for Voltage Modular Virtual Synthesizer Overview
The Year Two Modules Bundle from Cherry Audio is a collection of 14 high-end modules for Voltage Modular that were introduced during the second year the Voltage Modular synthesizer platform was available, offered at a substantial savings over the individual purchase prices. The collection includes FM Station, Poly FM Station, EG Station, Poly EG Station, Polymode Module, AirWave, Poly AirWave, AirVector, and AirStep. A library of presets is provided to jump-start your creative process. The Voltage Modular software (available as a free download) runs on Mac and Windows computers as a plug-in or standalone instrument.
FM Station and Poly FM Station
FM Station is a digital oscillator inspired by classic Yamaha digital synths of the 80s, it uses frequency-modulation (FM) synthesis to create tones. Combining incredible sound quality and ease of use never before seen in an FM sound module, FM Station is a must-have module. Poly FM Station is the polyphonic version of the module.
EG Station and Poly EG Station
EG Station features eight fully independent ADSR envelope generators. Though it’s intended for use with the Cherry Audio FM Station oscillator module, it can be used with any modules in Voltage. It packs a lot of envelopes into a compact footprint and features velocity CV inputs for CV control of envelope intensity. Poly EG Station is the polyphonic version of the module.
AirStep
AirStep brings the sought-after sound of wave sequencing to the modular environment. With over 300 onboard PCM sample waves and massively flexible modulation, trigger, and sync options, AirStep takes wave-sequencing synthesis to an entirely new level. Its advanced interfaces tremendously simplifies the creation of complex wave sequences.
AirVector
AirVector is a joystick-controlled quad vector mixer, usable with any Voltage Modular audio signals. Its flexible modulation options and super easy-to-configure vector envelope section make it a must-have for creating evolving timbres.
AirWave and Poly AirWave
AirWave is fantastically powerful joystick-controlled quad vector digital oscillator, featuring over 200 looped PCM sample waves. Its flexible modulation options and super easy-to-configure vector envelope section make it must-have for creating evolving timbres. Separate outs for each wave and a sample-rate knob enable easy creation of radical and unearthly timbres. Poly AirWave is the polyphonic version.
DCO-60
DCO-60 models every element of the beloved classic Juno-106 synthesizer, from its self-oscillating filter to its dreamy chorus effect, all combined in a fully polyphonic module loaded with patch points that has to be heard to be believed. Cherry Audio has even recreated the entire A bank of original factory presets.
VCF-60
VCF-60 is a separate module containing the high-pass and low-pass filters from the DCO-60 vintage synthesizer module. With independently patchable sections and a self-resonating low-pass section, it’s the perfect replication of the classic ’80s Juno synth sound.
Chorus-60
An expanded version of the chorus section of the DCO-60 polysynth modules, Chorus-60 precisely replicates the giant, lush stereo spread of classic Roland Juno synthesizers. The module includes stereo spread and wet/dry mix controls for added flexibility.
SynthVoice
SynthVoice is a complete semimodular vintage synthesizer, featuring two oscillators, a multimode filter, an LFO, dual envelope generators, sample and hold, and spring reverb. It’s like having a classic ARP 2600 synthesizer in your modular rack.
SynthVoice Filter
SynthVoice Filter delivers the ballsy and pure analog tonality of the ARP 2600 vintage synthesizer. It features low-pass and high-pass modes, with selectable 12 or 24 dB/oct slopes.
Polymode Module
Polymode Module is a complete instrument inspired by the legendary ’70s Polymoog synthesizer. One of the world’s first polyphonic synthesizers, it excels at large pads, strings, and vocal-esque sounds. And its unique multiple filter implementation and mod routings give it a sound like no other synth. Note: this is a virtual module for the Voltage Modular platform. The Polymode Synthesizer plug-in is available separately.
