  • Low-pass filter (LPF) with slopes up to 36 dB/oct
  • Five bands of notch filtering with linkable frequency control
  • Double-precision processing
  • Zero latency
  • Collection of presets from award winning mix engineers
  • Mono and stereo versions

Buzz Removal

The NF575 notch filters are extremely narrow and linkable, so the removal of cyclical (and harmonic) noise is possible, without affecting the desired audio

Remove Low Rumble

The steeper slopes can remove more of these unwanted low frequency sounds, while preserving the real content in the track

RTA

Use the Real-Time Analyzer to monitor how the frequency spectrum is being affected. The RTA feature is only available for AAX Native, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats

Clean Dialog

Using the NR800 will not impart any audio artifacts such as chirping, even at aggressive settings. This makes the NR800 a good choice for the first pass of a dialog track. Balanced removal of hissing and rumbles are just a few clicks away.

Field Adjustments

Sometimes the environment in which the action occurs is less than ideal when it comes to noise contamination. The NR800 is great for taking out the rumble and hiss of wind, pulling down the levels of ambient noise, and getting the desired sound more focused.

Restoration

The NR800 can deal with subtle background noises, including those found in older music recordings (and new ones). Often the best results for reducing perceived noise come from small adjustments instead of aggressive ones.

Interface

  • The adjustable and very steep high-pass and low-pass filters are perfectly suited for separating noise from the desired audio
  • The NR800 plot view shows the high-pass and low-pass filter responses, along with the noise reduction amount at any given time

McDSP SA-2 Dialog Processor – Recorded Voice Enhancement Plug-In (HD, Download)

The SA-2 Dialog Processor from McDSP is a plug-in based on the hardware originally conceived by Academy Award-winning re-recording mixer Mike Minkler. Used on over one hundred major motion pictures, the software is designed to improve the overall sound of recorded speech, be it in a movie, television show, documentary, or for that matter, any creative media production involving the spoken word. It is equally useful for vocals, it can be used for adjusting the timbre of any track, and it delivers a de-esser and a multi-frequency compressor.

The processor is made up of five-bands of specifically placed active equalization, configured in a variety of modes to best address common issues of dialog. Each band has a threshold control to determine at what signal level the active equalizer begins to affect the signal, and an enable button to quickly audition the effect of any given band. Two mode selectors allow for controlling the ballistics of the active equalization, and for placing the five bands at specific points in the frequency spectrum. Finally, input and output controls are available for overall adjustment.

The HD version is designed to work on Pro Tools | HD systems, but also includes the Native version with AudioSuite, Audio Units and VST format plug-ins.
